Is Apex Legends about to kill another character?

Could Apex Legends be preparing players for another character's death as we approach a showdown between Revenant and Loba? That's the question the community has been being half-jokingly and half-seriously since it was confirmed that Loba is the new Legend that will join the Apex Games in season five.

The connection between the two characters goes back to before Loba was shown, let alone revealed, and if anyone tried to kill another character already in Apex Legends, it would be Loba. But could Respawn Entertainment do something like that again and from a character that players expected (or one they're already familiar with), and could Loba even kill Revenant if he had the chance?

The answer to all these questions is always "maybe" until Respawn officially reveals his plans for season five, plans we hope will become apparent Tuesday when we receive next season's release trailer. Players can and have been theorizing about what can happen when Revenant and Loba inevitably face each other and based on what we've seen so far in relation to the couple's relationship, we can try to guess what the outcome will be.

Revenant -History

To understand Revenant's role in this, we first have to return to the fourth film season of the Legend, as well as some then-released and most recently updated publications.

Revenant is a pretty talented killer. We saw it in his premiere cinematic, where he ends up in an entire room of people, even though he was only looking for a main goal.

Some stories were revealed at the time of Revenant's release and refreshed again before The Revelation of Loba, which explained that Revenant was put into the Apex Games to keep him busy while people could figure out how to turn it off forever, as he keeps reappearing every time he has killed.

Revenant realized in the trailer what Hammond Robotics and the Syndicate had done to him, meaning he has no love for organizations, but there is one person who wants to take him down even more than his next victims.

Loba - History

Loba Andrade, a character who has been the subject of leaks, dating, and theories for a long time. Loba will be the next legend in Apex Legends unless there's a big twist, and he's got a long story with Revenant.

In Revenant's film, only one family member he pointed to came alive: The Daughter. That daughter is none other than Loba, and although Revenant was only looking for the father and had no problem leaving it intact after achieving her goal, Loba was not so quick to forget her actions.

Cinematics showed that Loba grew up to become a skilled thief with dexterity in combat and a series of gadgets at her disposal. The film ends with Loba finally figuring out Revenant's whereabouts, a discovery that indicates that a great confrontation is coming.

So if a fight is coming, how's it going to be? These possible outcomes obviously may not encompass all the outcome of the dispute between the two, but there are some potential ways this story could end.

Revenant kills Loba

We don't doubt Loba's abilities, as he has come this far on his own, but Revenant is a trained assassin with some powerful tools at his disposal. It may have been a surprise attack, but he killed Forge, one of the strongest characters that almost appeared in the Apex Games, so we'd have to assume he'd be able to kill Loba as well.

But would Respawn really kill another character before Loba entered the game? If Loba started a fight, he would have a good chance of winning, as It's possible that Revenant doesn't remember Loba or doesn't worry enough about her to start a fight.

The developers used Revenant to kill Forge to throw off the players, but Loba had game skills and models drawn from the game's files, meaning she is much more likely to be in the game unlike Forge. While it's possible that Revenant won the fight and killed Loba, it seems unlikely that we'll see the same spin twice.

Loba kills Revenant

Revenant can win the fight if the two fight head-on, but that doesn't look like that's Loba's plan. According to recent advertisements like the one above, Loba is close to finding a way to disable Revenant by making sure that his existence is not transferred to another robot once he is "killed".

If you wanted to kill Revenant, it looks like it would be like the way Loba wants to. It is unclear whether this means that the Revenant in its current state would weaken, but it does mean that if it is destroyed, it will not revive again.

But killing a character that players have been using for months seems as unlikely as killing a new character a second time. Revenant has just been polished in April and is now in a decent place, so getting it out of the game would be a quick way to frustrate those who use it. Since resurrection is a key part of Revenant's story, he might only leave the game for a week or more with some traditional magic that brought him back, assuming he will ever be eliminated by Loba.

These questions and more will be answered very soon when we see what happens between the two, as well as what Loba is able to do as soon as his skills are revealed.

The fifth season of Apex Legends is scheduled to begin on May 12 with the trailer's release on May 5, so wait for the answers in the next week.
